Only one of these routes will be required to serve the project need. Dominion Energy will recommend one of these routes as a preferred option based on many factors, including constructability, public feedback, impact to the area, etc.
This map shows overhead transmission line routes the Dominion Energy team evaluated as potential opportunities but rejected based upon further research. Rejection reasons include constructability, environmental factors, existing development plans, etc.
The Dominion Energy team evaluated the potential for an underground transmission line to serve the project need. Upon further research, the team determined an underground transmission line would not be prudent due to limiting factors around space requirements needed for construction, space requirements needed for permanent transition stations, impact to the environment, Wellington Road future development by the Virginia Department of Transportation, etc. Please refer to the below map and fact sheet for more information.
