The Beaumeade to Buttermilk and Paragon Park 230 kilovolt (kV) Reconductor Project is replacing wires, a process known as reconductoring, on existing transmission lines between our Beaumeade and Buttermilk substations and between our Beaumeade and Paragon Park substations in Loudoun County, Virginia. These updates allow us to enhance electric service reliability for our customers.
As part of this project in early 2023, we replaced three double-circuit monopoles and one single-circuit monopole with four double-circuit galvanized steel monopoles. Three of the four structures are along the W&OD Trail between Pacific Boulevard and Smith Switch Road.
