Dominion Energy proposes to construct a double-circuit 230 kV transmission line and substation to support continued economic development growth and area reliability in the Gainesville area of Prince William County.
The Daves Store substation will be located adjacent to the existing Heathcote substation near Interstate-66 and Lee Highway (Route 29). The 230 kV double-circuit transmission line proposes to run east from the Daves Store substation connecting to additional substations (named Trident and Stinger) before terminating at NOVEC’s Atlantic substation near the intersection of Wellington Road and Rollins Ford Road.
This project was submitted to Virginia’s State Corporation Commission (SCC) in February 2024. While the SCC reviews the application, the substation portion of the project will make its way through Prince William County’s special use permit (SUP) process in parallel.
