At Dominion Energy, we are dedicated to finding the best solution for the long-term energy needs within the communities we serve. As we remain focused on reliability and resiliency, we have identified a transmission line in Saluda County that is eligible for upgrades. The project is located alongside U.S. Highway 178 between Saluda and Batesburg-Leesville. This project will enhance wind resistance during severe weather and provide more reliable and resilient power to the greater Saluda area.

Dominion Energy and its contractors will replace the existing 115-kilovolt (kV) wooden structures along the 13.5-mile section of line with self-supporting galvanized steel poles. The new line will be designed to meet all modern electric codes as well as provide additional reliability to our customers. The rebuilt lines will be constructed along existing right of way.

Letters will be sent out to impacted property owners along the route as DESC progresses through its construction.

In addition to weekdays and normal work hours, weekend work hours may be necessary to meet critical project schedules.
