As we remain focused on reliability and resiliency, we will upgrade an existing transmission line in Aiken County. This project will enhance wind resistance during severe weather and provide increased capacity, more reliable and resilient power to the greater Aiken area.
Dominion Energy and its contractors will replace 12.5 miles of 115-kilovolt (kV) wooden structures with self-supporting galvanized steel poles. The new line will be designed to meet all modern electric codes as well as provide additional reliability to our customers. The rebuilt line will be constructed along existing right of way between Urquhart Generating Station in Beech Island and the Toolebeck substation southeast of Aiken.
