Project Overview

These projects involve replacing the conductors, or wires, on several electric transmission lines between Remington Substation in Fauquier County and Gainesville Substation in Prince William County, Virginia. Upgrading these conductors will help maintain electric reliability and comply with mandatory federal standards.

To maintain a safe distance around the new wires, we plan to raise some of the transmission structures along these lines by up to 25 feet. This will be accomplished with an innovative process which will allow us to safely raise the structures without interrupting electric service. Learn more about the process.

  • Fall 2024 – Remington - Rollins Ford Phase 3 and 4 structure lifts begin
  • Spring 2025 – Remington – Rollins Ford Phase 3 and 4 reconductor begins
  • Summer 2025 – Remington – Rollins Ford Phase 3 and 4 reconductor expected completion
