These projects involve replacing the conductors, or wires, on several electric transmission lines between Remington Substation in Fauquier County and Gainesville Substation in Prince William County, Virginia. Upgrading these conductors will help maintain electric reliability and comply with mandatory federal standards.
To maintain a safe distance around the new wires, we plan to raise several transmission structures by 10-20 feet each. This will be accomplished with an innovative process which will allow us to safely raise the structures without interrupting electric service. Learn more about the process.
