Yes, as long as it meets the definition of “renewable energy” under
VA Code 56-576.
Can a participating customer request a specific renewable facility?
Yes. Customers can select a specific facility if the facility is interconnected with the
PJM power grid and the provider can participate in PJM’s markets. Customers are not required to select a specific facility.
Does the renewable energy resource have to be located in Virginia?
No, the renewable energy resource could be located outside of Virginia if the facility is interconnected with PJM and the provider can participate in PJM’s markets.

How long will the program be available?
The program was approved in 2018 and is available for three years.
How many customers can participate in the program?
The program is capped at 50 customers. A customer with multiple sites would be considered one customer.
Are there minimum and maximum purchase parameters for customers participating in Schedule RG?
Customers must agree to purchase the output from a renewable resource of least 1,000 kilowatts in nameplate capacity. This capacity cannot exceed the customer's annual electrical energy load. Customers may aggregate accounts to participate in Schedule RG. Customers may purchase amounts up to 100% of their energy needs.
