Dominion Energy’s Business Energy Reports provide you with detailed information about your business’ energy use and help you discover ways to save money and improve your bottom line. As one of the selected customers, you will receive bi-monthly paper and email reports, along with other resources, informing you of your business’s energy use in comparison to similar businesses.

These reports help you:

  • Take control of your energy use with recommended best practices, including free and low-cost tips that help save money.

Business Energy Reports are designed to help you understand your business’s energy use and find ways to reduce consumption and lower your bill. Using your own historical energy use, your personalized report offers insights on how much you spend on energy and how your usage compares with similar businesses. You will find recommendations along with useful resources to help your business save energy and money. The Business Energy Report program is designed for small businesses.

To have the most customized report, make sure you provide us with the most up-to-date information about your business. You can do this through the link at the top of your emailed report, the QR code at the top of your paper report or by calling one of our Energy Advisors at 855-276-3395

One of the main reasons to reduce consumption is that, by ignoring energy efficiency programs, you are putting your business at a competitive disadvantage.

Here are some compelling reasons why you should continue participating in Dominion Energy’s energy efficiency programs:

  • Energy Efficiency Offers Excellent Returns on Investment and Cash Flow Propositions: Many energy efficiency opportunities offer very short, unsubsidized paybacks. However, when businesses leverage utility incentives, it contributes to a greater return on investment.
  • Sustainability: Maximizing the benefits from utility energy efficiency programs helps your business improve its overall sustainability. Sustainability is becoming more and more important to consumers, marketing departments, corporate supply chain managers and investors.

Your business is one of 45,000 Dominion Energy commercial customers who were randomly selected to participate. The program focuses on small businesses.

The goal of these reports is to provide you with energy use information customized for your facility and advise you on improving efficiency so you can save on your bill. The report helps you dive deeper into understanding your energy usage and provides you with actionable steps you can take right away to start saving energy.

Over the next 12 months, you will receive six Business Energy Reports. Print reports will be mailed to the billing address on file. Customers who have shared an email address with Dominion Energy will also receive the report via email.

While we hope that you find the information useful, you can opt out by calling us at 855-276-3395 or by emailing DominionEnergySBB@icf.com. Opt-out requests can take up to 10 days to process. You can also adjust your delivery method or return to the program using these contact details.

To determine information about your facility, we look at the business type, space heating type, climate zone, size and energy usage history based on publicly available records and your electricity usage. If your information is not correct, contact us at 855-276-3395 or DominionEnergySBB@icf.com to update your facility’s details.

To provide valid comparisons, we’ve selected at least 50 commercial facilities that have a similar business activity type and are located in the same weather region.

To get the most benefit from your reports, we recommend that you:

  1. Follow the tips and recommendations included in each report and on our website, where you can view, and sort tips based on your business needs.

  3. Call one of our qualified Energy Advisors to receive highly customized recommendations, have your questions answered and benefit from personalized coaching on saving energy.
  4. Carefully review the energy use charts and graphs shown in the report. These easy-to-read graphs give you (1) a breakdown of how your energy use has changed from month to month and year to year, (2) an idea of how your energy use compares to other businesses like yours, and (3) how your energy use aligns with your operating hours. The better you understand your energy use, the more insights you will have about ways your business can save.

The amount a business can save by taking the recommended steps in the report depends on the type of business and the kind of actions it takes. However, we have found that relatively minor changes can result in savings of up to 7% in just one year.
