Safety is at the top of Dominion Energy’s core values. In the face of COVID–19, we took extraordinary steps to protect our customers and our employees. Many of our employees began teleworking while continuing to serve our customers. Our field employees took additional steps at the start of the pandemic to protect customers by wearing specialized personal protective equipment and practicing social distancing techniques to provide service in situations of potential COVID–19 exposure.

In recognition of Dominion Energy Ohio’s strong track record for safety, the company received the 2020 Safety Achievement Award for Employee Safety by the American Gas Association for our industry leading safety performance. Our strong safety performance continued in 2021.

Dominion Energy previously announced that our company will reach net zero emissions across our entire operations by 2050. Did you know you can lower your bill and reduce carbon emissions by weatherizing your home and investing in energy efficient appliances? We have energy efficiency programs to help, including our Home Performance with EnergyStar and our Housewarming Program. We’ve also partnered with the teacher and high school students in the Construction Trades Program at the Four Cities Compact (Barberton, Norton, Wadsworth and Copley) to assist with designing and building an Energy Star–rated home in Wadsworth, Ohio. It’s our goal to be the most sustainable energy company in the country.

Dominion Energy Ohio continues to reduce emissions through our Pipeline Infrastructure Replacement (PIR) program. This project involves the replacement of more than 5,500 miles of our company’s 22,000–mile natural gas pipeline system. Our pipeline replacement program is a key element in the company’s methane reduction efforts. In addition, the company formally welcomed Hardin Solar this year. The 150–megawatt facility, located in Hardin County, Ohio, is Dominion Energy’s first project in Ohio, and marks the fifth state where the company owns solar facilities.
