I always enjoy slowing down after the flurry of the holidays and taking some time to reflect on the opportunities a new year will bring.
Dominion Energy North Carolina turned a new page to become Enbridge Gas North Carolina and there will be some changes in the coming months that you will notice as we roll out our new brand.
While we're still the same customer-dedicated team, you'll begin seeing employee badge, uniform and truck logo changes, along with a new website soon. Before any changes that may affect payments or your online account, you will be notified well in advance. We're committed to a smooth and seamless change as well as safety, reliability and affordability.
Another thing that won't change is our commitment to our communities. After Helene devastated Western North Carolina, our employees quickly mobilized in the restoration effort, stabilizing areas impacted by flooding, downed trees, powerlines, and landslides so that every customer who was able to receive service had the natural gas they needed.
We continue to work on our system as communities rebuild and are here for the long-haul. Enbridge also provided financial support to Operation Airdrop, the North Carolina Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund, United Way, Manna Food Bank, and others. Although the stories and images of loss following Helene will never be forgotten, neither will the stories of resilience, of community and selflessness.
As winter temperatures settle in North Carolina, we'll also be hard at work ensuring system reliability as more natural gas is used. Even with inflation and rising costs, natural gas remains a low-cost fuel. In fact, households that have natural gas for basic uses – like clothes drying, heating and cooking – save over a thousand dollars a year*. That's why we continue to see record customer growth and have embarked on important projects such as the Moriah Energy Center and the T15 Reliability Project.
Understanding the challenges that some may be facing, Enbridge Gas has the tools and resources to help customers with their natural gas bills. We have partnerships with community action agencies as well as our longstanding energy assistance program, Heat Care. If you are facing financial hardship, you can contact our customer care center, or self-serve by setting up a payment plan or extension online. For customers interested in reducing their natural gas use or carbon footprint, ThermWise has a suite of programs, including a low-income weatherization program, energy-saving tools and rebates to help you make the switch to more energy-efficient appliances.
